Khalaf Stores - History
Fareed Khalaf and Sons Company”, one of the oldest and prominent company names in Jordan. After Mr Fareed Khalaf passed away in 1990, the name was amended in 1991 to “Fareed Khalaf Sons Company” run by the next generation and later became known as “Khalaf Stores”.
In 1952, the company started business operations in retail and opened the first self-service premium retail outlet in the Kingdom of Jordan. By early 1960’s Khalaf Stores became an official FMCG distributor. In 1994, Khalaf Stores decided to change its business trends to focus more on the distribution of top class brands, the owners took a decision to spin off the retail outlet. During the late 1990’s, the company decided to open a separate division to handle luxury wines and spirits with its own dedicated team. In 2008, after achieving growth with Nestlé Nespresso, Khalaf Stores decided to start up a specialized subsidiary under the name “Superbrands for Investment and Trading Co Ltd” to handle all the super premium coffee business. Starting with 12 employees, today Khalaf Stores operates with over 200 employees and a high caliber management team. The distribution network has advanced to very high standards in the Jordanian market. Khalaf Stores is driven by an ethical business mentality with future visions and enjoys an extremely high reputation in the Jordanian market and other markets in which it operates. Khalaf Stores has solid financial capabilities. Investments, wise strategies and lots of hard work are set to achieve the company objectives and reach future goals.
In 2009, Khalaf Stores has officially moved to its newly built state of the art centralized offices and warehouse facilities, which include dry stores, high tech refrigeration and freezing, wine cellars. This is in addition to our established warehouses located close to highly populated areas to allow us to reach our markets efficiently.
